Madison Community Foundation announces $813,000 in grants for Dane County nonprofits

MADISON (WKOW) — Madison Community Foundation announced $813,000 in Community Impact grants to 22 nonprofits and the residents on Thursday.

Community Impact grants address needs and opportunities in five focus areas: learning, community development, arts and culture, environment, and organizational capacity building.

The grants bring the total awarded throughout 2018 to more than $2.2 million. The largest grant, for $100,000, was awarded to Goodman Community Center’s building and expansion project

  • Arts + Literature Laboratory – $20,000
  • Capital City Theatre – $15,000
  • CEOs of Tomorrow, Inc. – $21,000
  • Charles Hamilton Houston Institute – $10,000
  • Children’s Dyslexia Center – $25,000
  • Community GroundWorks – $10,000
  • Community Shares of Wisconsin – $90,000 (3-year, $30,000 grant)
  • The First Tee of South Central Wisconsin – $25,000
  • Free Bikes 4 Kidz Madison – $50,000
  • GiGi’s Playhouse‐Madison – $15,000
  • Goodman Community Center – $100,000
  • Groundswell Conservancy – $19,000
  • Literacy Network – $75,000 (3-year, $25,000)
  • Madison Children’s Museum – $30,000
  • Madison Circus Space – $50,000
  • Madison Public Library Foundation – $25,000
  • Madison Reading Project – $50,000
  • Maydm – $46,000
  • Parents Advocating Student Success (P.A.S.S.), Inc. for Verona Area Core Knowledge Charter School – $30,000
  • Sunshine Place – $50,000
