Employers having trouble filling jobs, turn to Dane County Regional Job Fair

MADISON (WKOW) — Hundreds of job seekers turned out Wednesday for the Dane County Regional Job Fair.

Around 1,200 people were expected at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison for the event on Wednesday. About 140 employers were there, representing a number of fields.

The Dane County Job Center puts on the event. Organizer Mary Kauffman says now is the perfect time for people looking for a jobs. Employers are having a difficult time filling positions.

"Obviously we have a low unemployment rate," said Kauffman. "It is hard to find people to come into these current open positions."

There next job fair will be in March 2019 at the Alliant Energy Center.
