UPDATE: Police look for men who caused campus alert

UPDATE (WKOW) — Madison police hope you can help them find men who caused a WiscAlert to be sent.

Police say at about 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, police were called to W. Lakelawn Place for a report of two men fighting.  The caller told them one had a gun and was chasing the other man toward Memorial Union.

Police figured out that the two men were not fighting, but likely knew each other and ran to the area together.  Police could not confirm if either had a gun.

One man was described as a black man wearing a Texas A&M jersey. The other was a black man wearing a long, black leather jacket.

Madison police say the public is not in danger, but if you know who the men might be call Crime Stoppers at (608) 266-6014.

UPDATE (WKOW) — UW-Madison police tweeted an “all clear” after a WiscAlert was sent.

Police say there is no longer a threat after officers checked out the area.

The update came less than 30 minutes after the original tweet.
