Drier than average conditions expected at least the next two weeks

MADISON (WKOW) – Finally, we begin drying off. The newest outlook from the Climate Prediction Center shows below average rain chances for at least the next two weeks.

However, with today’s sweeping cold front, temps will likely be below average for much of the rest of October. Though, there will be sunnier days ahead, too.

Since the beginning of September, Dane County Regional Airport has picked up nearly 10 inches of rain!

But, over the next two weeks, long-range computer models are showing southern Wisconsin only picking up another inch or less.

Because of this last round of heavy rain, many local rivers will crest in the minor or moderate flood stage this weekend or early next week.
