MADISON (WKOW) — Rafael Gaglianone is one kick away from topping the record books at Wisconsin. The Badgers’ senior kicker needs just one field goal at Michigan on Saturday to claim sole possession of the career field goal record.
“Obviously, a big week and a big game for us. So, I just want to prepare the right way, not put anything personally in front of, you know, the team goals.”
Still, this could be a huge game for Gaglianone. He currently has 65 field goals and is tied with Todd Gregoire for the career record. By the end of the season, he could also hold the record for most extra points and is currently third all-time in points.
“I’m just trying to be the best kicker that I can be. I know that if I do that, the records will come and everything else will follow. So, I’m really just trying to be the best teammate and best senior leader I can be. ”
Gaglianone will make a kick at history at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday at Michigan. That game can be seen on WKOW.
