UPDATE (WKOW) — Fire officials say no one was hurt after a semi went up in flames late Wednesday night near Lake Delton.
According to Delton Fire Department, both lanes of the eastbound traffic on I-90/94 were stopped for about 20 minutes as firefighters worked to put out the flames in the semi tractor.
Officials say both the tractor and trailer of the semi were destroyed. There was nothing inside the trailer.
Investigators believe a mechanical failure started the fire, which was called in around 11:15 p.m. on October 24. No one was hurt.
UPDATE (WKOW) — I-90 is back open at the Columbia-Sauk County line after a semi fire late Wednesday night.
The DOT says all lanes were back open by 1:45 a.m. Thursday.
NEAR PORTAGE (WKOW) — The Wisconsin State Patrol says all lanes of eastbound I-90/94 at the Columbia-Sauk County line are closed because of a semi fire.
A representative from the State Patrol tells 27 News the fire is in the semi cab and the trailer got detached.
The fire broke out around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday. Traffic officials estimated it would take two hours before the road would be reopened.
