Madison (WKOW) — Accumulating snow looks to impact travel later tonight and early tomorrow morning, especially for the areas located in the warning boxes. Winter storm warnings are in effect for Green, Rock, and Walworth counties until 6 am tomorrow. Jefferson County remains under a winter weather advisory until 6 am. We’re keeping a close eye on those specific counties as they have the best chance for seeing enough snow to cause travel issues tomorrow morning.
Snow looks to kick off this afternoon between 2 pm and 4 pm, developing from the south and east. Snow will continue to fall into the overnight hours eventually tapering off during the very early hours of Monday morning, before 6 am.
The gradient is really tight in snowfall accumulations, so areas far south of Madison, like Beloit, and Janesville could see anywhere between 4-8″ inches. Evansville, included in the winter storm warning will be right on the cusp, on the lower end, closer to 1-4″. Travel shouldn’t be an issue tomorrow morning for other parts of the viewing area, especially north of Madison.
