MADISON (WKOW) – The snow is still falling in some spots but will continue to weaken as we head into New Years Day morning. Additional snowfall will be less than half an inch.
The main concern overnight is the cold air moving in behind the system. Lows will drop into the upper teens causing roads to refreeze.
By the time you wake up New Year’s morning, expect a dusting up to 2 inches of snow for our southern areas, 2 to 4 inches for our central areas, stretching from Grant County through Madison and along I-94. Highest amounts will be north of Madison with 4 to 6 inches likely.
The snow will be heavy & wet, so make sure to take breaks when shoveling. Though this snow will be great for making snowmen!
