MADISON (WKOW) — Dane County Sheriff Dave Mahoney swore-in his newest deputies at the City-County Building on Wednesday.
Eight new deputies will attend law enforcement and jail academies before transitioning to working at the Dane County Jail, where they will work for two years.
The deputies will fill the slots that became available due to retirements and people who left the office.
“You will be faced with challenges, many rewards but also many heartaches,” said Mahoney. “You will need your family behind you with those challenges but to also celebrate the awards in the profession you have chosen.”
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office recruits for deputy and civilian positions to fill vacancies as they happen.
