Burglars leave restaurant empty handed after tripping alarm

MADISON (WKOW) — Burglars broke a window early this morning to get into a west side restaurant, but left empty handed after failing to get into the safe.

Surveillance images show two men wearing hoodies and masks entering Babes, 5614 Schroeder Rd, at 5:19 a.m. Tuesday, according to a Madison police incident report.

They then go into an office and begin rifling through items, but they also trip a burglar alarm.

The alarm causes the intruders to flee empty-handed, but a safe in the office was not opened, police say.
