Winter weather advisory for freezing mist & possible icy spots

MADISON (WKOW) – A winter weather advisory is in effect for the entire WKOW area from this evening until 9 am Tuesday.

A cold front moving through the Upper Midwest will cause some areas of freezing drizzle and mist.

Communities north and west of Madison could see some patchy ice on the roads as soon as the evening commute, with the threat for slippery spots overspreading the region later this evening and through the overnight hours.

There may even be some lingering slippery spots through the Tuesday morning commute.

Arctic blast expected by this weekend: full forecast

Slippery roads are possible, especially for less-traveled and untreated areas, like on side streets, driveways and sidewalks.

Allow a few extra minutes driving and increasing your distance between vehicles.

Be on the look out for any glassy sheens on the ground, because they could be ice.
