MADISON (WKOW) — One man is dead and two others hospitalized after a truck was found stopped in traffic on Wednesday.

Dane County Sheriff’s deputies, Sun Prairie Police and EMS responded Wednesday to reports of a pickup truck stopped in traffic just after 5:30 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. The truck was on Highway 151 near County Highway V.

The responders found an unresponsive 59-year-old man in the driver’s seat. They attempted to revive him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the release.

The man’s autopsy is planned for today, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Two other people were also in the vehicle who appeared to have overdosed on opiates. One was given Narcan, the release said. Both were taken to Columbus Community Hospital.

The release said the names of those in the truck will be withheld until families are notified and the autopsy is done.
