BELOIT (WKOW) — With the frigid temperatures expected this week, The Salvation Army of Rock County is organizing an emergency shelter on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. It’ll be located at 628 Broad St. in Beloit.
The shelter is in need of volunteers as well. They’ll be responsible for helping serve meals, help clean up and be an extra set of eyes in case any situation should arise.
The shifts are as follows:
4 p.m. – 8 p.m. (Dinner served during this shift)
8 p.m. – Midnight
Midnight – 4 a.m.
4 a.m. – 8a.m. (Breakfast served during this shift)
If anyone would like to help but can’t volunteer, the Salvation Army is also accepting food donations and pillows and blankets for guests.
