MADISON (WKOW) — The weather warmup this weekend has been a welcome change for auto repair shops after the bitter cold last the week.
Sven Kroner has owned Applegate Auto in Madison for more than 45 years.
He says this past week has been one of the busiest he’s ever dealt with.
In a normal week, mechanics will have to treat two to three batteries. This week, they had more than 75 come in.
“The problem is that we’ve had to actually take the phone off the hook because you just can’t handle all of the calls,” Kroner said. “The phone rings every minute and it’s just impossible to take care of everybody.”
He says now that the extreme cold is over with they can get back to their usual work.
They recommend if your car needs care, it’s best to take care of it before the next big cool down.
