Piano Play-a-Thon raises money for music therapy at children’s hospital

MADISON (WKOW) —  Madison area piano students played for more than eight hours on Saturday to raise money for the American Family Children’s Hospital.

It’s part of the 27th annual Madison Area Friends of Piano Play-a-Thon at Barnes and Noble near West Towne Mall.

Hundreds of musicians collect pledges and then take a shift on a piano.

This year, the money will go to the new music therapy program at the children’s hospital.

“We like the fact that it’s related to music, we liked the fact that it related to children so that other children could realize that they are benefiting other children,” said event co-chair Connie Jones.

The cause the event donates to changes every year but it always relates to children.
