Janesville man faces second OWI charge after crash with injuries

ROCK COUNTY (WKOW) — A Janesville man faces multiple charges after the SUV he was driving Sunday crashed into another vehicle, injuring the occupants.

Sammy Bunker, 31, Janesville was arrested at the scene.

Rock County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a traffic crash with injuries about 9 p.m. Sunday that occurred in front of 2817 E County Highway O.

Deputies found two SUVs disabled in the roadway in which one struck the other in the rear, according to a Rock County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Bunker showed signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested for OWI-second, two counts of OWI-causing injury-second offense and misdemeanor bail jumping for violating bond conditions from an OWI-second arrest in 2018.

Bunker was also cited for operating while suspended, following too closely, and operating a vehicle without insurance.

Bunker will be booked into the Rock County Jail where he will have an initial court appearance on Feb. 11, 2019 at 3 p.m.
