OAKDALE (WKOW) — Seven vehicles remain on the side of I-90/94 near the County PP exit in Monroe County.
The Wisconsin State Patrol said a chain reaction of accidents on the eastbound lanes of the interstate near Exit 48 ended with an estimated 20 vehicles either crashed or in the ditch.
While many were hauled away, seven vehicles still remain. All of them are semis, a sergeant with the Wisconsin State Patrol told 27 News.
The cleanup of the semis is not expected to begin until 3 a.m. Thursday at the earliest, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.
A State Patrol car was also involved in the accident.
The 2008 Chevy Tahoe had under 10,000 miles on the odometer and had only just been acquired by the patrol in October, according to the sergeant. The patrolman driving the car was taken to the hospital but his injuries were minor.
