Police release photos of getaway van in attempted ATM theft

UPDATE (WKOW) — The Madison Police Department released photos Monday of what it says is the getaway van used to try and steal an ATM from a gas station on the city’s far east side.

Criminals tried to use a tow strap to try and pull the ATM out of the Phillips 66 station on Atlas Avenue Sunday morning, but “they were unsuccessful,” according to a report from the Madison Police Department.

Police say they are investigating the case, and anyone with information should call Madison Area Crime Stoppers at (608) 266-6014.


MADISON (WKOW) — Madison police are looking for suspects who tried to steal an ATM early Sunday morning.  It happened at the Phillips 66 gas station on Atlas Avenue.

When officers got there, they found the front door open and saw the suspects tried to take the machine, but couldn’t.

By the time police arrived, the suspects got away.
