Light freezing rain and snow possible into Wednesday morning

MADISON (WKOW) – A winter weather advisory is in effect for all of southern WI until 9 AM Wednesday morning.

TONIGHT
Snow showers will be on and off overnight. There will be some breaks, potentially up to a few hours. This will hopefully allow plow drivers to stay ahead of this system and keep main roads in decent condition.

The system could mix in some light freezing drizzle or sleet after midnight and early on Wednesday for our areas closest to Illinois.

WEDNESDAY
Snow will wrap up from southwest to northeast through early morning. Areas north and east of Madison could have lingering light snow through the morning drive, but elsewhere, it will already be over.

Temps will be milder, but still about 10° below average in the low 20s.

We’re tracking even more light snow chances before the work week is over. Tune into the next newscast for details, or we’re always tracking here.
