BARRON COUNTY (WKOW) — The man accused of kidnapping Jayme Closs from her Barron home in October reached out to a reporter in Minnesota to talk to her.
Jennifer Mayerle from WCCO in Minneapolis sent Patterson a letter asking him questions. Patterson then called her to answer some of those questions.
In October, Jayme Closs was taken after her parents were killed. Investigators say Patterson admits it was him. Closs was missing for about three months, during that time Patterson said he liked being around her.
While on the phone, Patterson said “I just love her.” He said, “We were just watching TV, playing board games, talking about stuff. We cooked a lot, everything we made was homemade.”
Mayerle asked him if he had any regrets. He said “of course” but wouldn’t elaborate.
