Intruder arrested after trespassing in Madison home

MADISON (WKOW) — Police say a man was arrested for trespassing in a home on Sherman Avenue around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

According to Police Chief Mike Koval, the caller reported hearing a loud noise and after checking her security camera, saw a bearded male suspect enter her residence.

The caller went into an upstairs bedroom with her husband and two children and called 911.

Police say officers arrived with a K-9 unit and gave announcements into the house. The suspect had been hiding behind the opened front door.

Three officers received minor injuries when the suspect emerged and actively resisted.

Authorities say the suspect was taken into custody on charges of disorderly conduct, trespassing, and two counts of resisting-causing injury.
