MADISON (WKOW) — Construction projects in downtown Madison will cause delays.
The city leaders said these stretches will be impacted starting Monday, April 1.
E. Wilson Street—S. Franklin St to S Blair Street
Williamson Street—S Blair Street to S Blount Street
S. Blount Street—Capital City Bike Path to Williamson Street
One lane of traffic will be open in each direction on East Wilson Street and Williamson Street. Officials think this will result in peak hour traffic delays.
South Blount Street will be fully closed for about a month.
Another project, work along the Capital City trail. It will require closures and detours. That is scheduled to be completed in mid-August.
MG&E Gas is also doing utility work in this area. A news release said It will continue throughout the street road construction project.
In addition to the street project, Wisconsin & Southern Railroad will be taking on a project of their own in that area. Crews plan to replace the railroad crossing at the Wilson/Blair/John Nolen intersection. This project is not expected to start until Wednesday, June 19 through Sunday, June 23.
