Rain and snow mix to impact southeastern Wisconsin on Sunday

MADISON (WKOW) – A strong area of low pressure will pass southeast of Wisconsin on Sunday clipping parts of our area with a rain and snow mix.

Temps dip to around 30° tonight with a break in the clouds this evening before they thicken up later as our next weather system moves in from the Southern Plains.

Light snow mixed with rain will develop by mid to late morning for areas southeast of Madison. Temps stay cold in the upper 30s, but with a breeze out of the NE, it will feel even colder.

The threat for the wintry mix in the southeast part of the state will taper through the evening.

Rock/Walworth counties in the WKOW area can pick up an inch or two of slushy snow, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces.

Streets will be mainly wet, but could have a couple slippery spots, especially on hilly areas, bridges, and less-traveled roads which all tend to be colder than surrounding pavement.

Temps rebound to the mid 50s Monday with a sun-cloud mix returning, so any snow accumulations will quickly melt.
