MADISON (WKOW) — Hundreds of people took a trip back to the 1990s Saturday for a good cause.
Saturday was Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center’s “Rent Event.”
It was a 90s-themed fundraiser celebrating the organization’s 20th anniversary.
Safe Harbor provides support during police investigations for victims of abuse and neglect.
Event organizers say that’s a critical function for our community.
“Before Safe Harbor, a child would have to be interviewed about what happened multiple times by multiple people,” said Executive Director Jennifer Ginsburg. “Because of Safe Harbor, it’s a much better process, not only for the child, but for the investigators as well.”
Wake Up Wisconsin’s Nick Buffo and Rebecca Ribley hosted the event.
WKOW Station Manager Anna Engelhart is on the board of directors at Safe Harbor.
