Neighborhood center offers free dinner for residents at Summit Hill Apartments

MADISON (WKOW) — The Elver Park Neighborhood Center provided free meals for residents who were recently displaced at the Summit Hill Apartments last week.

The building was damaged after a contractor working in the building’s basement removed a load-bearing wall.

Most residents are back in their apartments now, but the center wanted to offer a little bit of help.

“I would like to call it a welcome back dinner for the residents that are across the street at the Summit Hill Apartments,” said Monique Bryson, Director of the Elver Park Neighborhood Center.

“They are in big transition while they’re coming back into their homes and we thought it would be a really good chance for them to not worry about dinner for a night. So we’re providing dinner,” she said.

Some police officers and other city officials stopped by for the dinner.
