Capital City Sunday: Governor Tony Evers & Assembly Speaker Robin Vos

MADISON (WKOW) — Governor Tony Evers talks about why he wants to renegotiate the Foxconn deal a day after he announced he doesn’t think the company will create 13,000 jobs. Evers said he’s working with Foxconn and Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) to “consider” changing the deal.

Evers also supports Attorney General Josh Kaul’s decision to not launch a new investigation into the state’s juvenile prisons. This comes after a federal probe ended without charges after the youth prisons, Lincoln Hills and Copper Lake, faced multiple allegations of abuse and neglect. The governor voices concerns over the latest court report that reveals pepper spray and solidarity confinement practices are still being used after guards were supposed to reduce those punishments.

Plus, Assembly Speaker Robin Vos calls out the number one thing he wants Governor Evers to change his mind on, health care. However, the top Republican says he’s willing to considering using the state budget surplus to pay for some of Evers health care proposals.

Governor Evers interview part two: Redistricting, Medicaid expansion and how he ranks his process so far as governor.
