Sri Lankan natives in Wisconsin mourn after bombing attacks

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) — Sri Lankan natives living in Wisconsin say they’re devastated by news of the Easter Sunday attacks in their home country.

Shan Sudarshan lives in Milwaukee but grew up in Colombo, one of the cities that was targeted.

More than 200 people were killed in a series of bombings, many at churches.

Sudarshan says he grew up a few miles away from one of the churches that was hit.

“Every Friday when we go there, there’s people that flock so much like there’s no room to even keep your foot, like the entire church gets filled and people actually line up outside the church like as far as the streets can take you,” he said.

Sudarshan says he has family still living in Sri Lanka and friends who were killed.
