Dry Tuesday ahead followed by heavy rain Wednesday

MADISON (WKOW) – Keep the umbrella handy this week as we have more rain to go.

A few more light showers are possible this evening and overnight, especially closer to Illinois. Otherwise, it’ll be mostly cloudy with temps dropping to around 40°.

Tuesday looks pleasant with highs in the mid to upper 50s and some sunshine through the day as a weak area of high pressure moves in.

Another weather system develops with showers moving back in late Tuesday night. Wednesday will be a wash out with rain most of the day. It’ll also be breezy and cold with highs in the mid to upper 40s.

As that low pressure area moves away, we’ll still stay breezy and see lighter passing showers on Thursday with temps in the low to mid 50s.

Friday and the weekend look nice as of now. Click here for your full forecast.

On Wednesday, we could pick up another 1 to 2 inches of rain. We are in a slight “level 2” risk for flash flooding. Expect some pooling water in low-lying areas along with rising creeks and streams.
