DANE COUNTY (WKOW) — Employees of a local bank and non-profit are coming together to build a home for a family in need.
Volunteers from Old National Bank and Habitat for Humanity are building a home frame in the parking lot of the bank branch on Sherman Ave. to make sure the right size of home is built for the right family.
“By framing up a house together we really see our end product where we partner with a family to bring them the strength and security owning a home really brings a family,” Habitat for Humanity of Dane County’s CEO Valerie Renk said.
The family that will receive this home came to the U.S. as refugees from Vietnam.
Like many other recipients the family will spend hundreds of hours working on the home.
They also get a mortgage.
