DARIEN, Wis. — Two people were found dead inside a Darien home Monday after police responded to a report of a shooting.
The call came in around 6 p.m. from a home at 452 Buckingham Ct., according to a press release from the city of Delavan Department of Police.
The release said police attempted to negotiate before eventually breaching the home’s door and finding two dead bodies.
The identities of the bodies are being withheld until the families have been notified, police said. Autopsies on the bodies are scheduled for today.
Police said they secured a search warrant and processed the scene before 4:00 a.m.
Police said one person was found shot in the shoulder before the door was breached and he was taken to Mercy Janesville.
Neighbors told WISN 12 News they were evacuated to City Hall while deputies searched for the shooter.
A spokesperson for Delavan police said they are the lead agency in the investigation.
Multiple departments responded to the scene.
The name of the victims have not yet been released.
Investigators have not said how the victims died.
