MADISON (WKOW) — Dozens of people came out to support the Salvation Army of Dane County this week.
The nonprofit held its annual Tin Cup lunch Thursday. Families shared their stories of overcoming adversity and how the Salvation Army helped them prevail.
The goal of the event is to inspire more people to give back. Dane County Coordinator Capt. Andrew Sheils says it puts a face to the donations people give.
“There’s a way for them to now see a story – a person who was able to come in, whether it be through our shelter or some of our other services, and bring them along further and help them get back on their feet,” Sheils said.
27 News’ Jennifer Kliese emceed the lunch. WKOW is a proud sponsor of the Salvation Army.
