GREEN BAY (WKOW) — The Packers are making plans to honor the life and legacy of Hall of Fame quarterback Bart Starr on the weekend of the home opener. The team also announcing they will wear No. 15 decals during the 2019 season to honor Starr.
Opening weekend is also Packers Alumni Weekend. The Green & Gold Gala on Sept. 13 will include a presentation from Starr’s wife, Cherry, and his son, Bart Starr, Jr.
On Sept. 14, the Starr family and the Packers will host a public celebration of his life in New London. That event will be free and open to all fans.
The Packers will also honor Starr at halftime of Sunday’s game against the Vikings that week. Some of Starr’s former teammates are planning to attend.
The Packers have also announced plans to award a $250,000 impact grant to the Bart and Cherry Starr Foundation.
