UPDATE: Madison gets $250K grant to redevelop Oscar Mayer site

UPDATE (WKOW) — The former Oscar Mayer site in Madison is getting a financial boost as it undergoes a transformation.

On Wednesday, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) announced the city of Madison will receive a $250k state community development grant to support the renovation of the property.

Work supported by the state grant will include sewer and plumbing work, construction of entryways at the building, energy-efficient upgrades and the removal of asbestos.


MADISON (WKOW) — A state grant will help the City of Madison with the redevelopment of the old Oscar Mayer site.

The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation is providing the grant.

Details are expected Wednesday morning.

The plant on the east side shut down in 2017.
