Madison hit 90 degrees Saturday afternoon; more heat today with storm chances

MADISON (WKOW) – After a hot, dry start to the weekend, we stay toasty on Sunday, however strong storms may develop, too.

A dying cluster of storms will move into the region from the NW in the morning and dive SE. There is a chance this line may fizzle, but still, expect the possibility of storms from around 8 am to 3 pm.

We quiet down temporarily before another round of storms fire off and move into our region Monday night.

These storms may be strong to severe with high winds, hail, frequent lightning, and heavy rain the main threats.

Have a way to receive warning information, like by downloading the free 27 Storm Track weather app.

Otherwise, expect another hot day with highs in the mid to upper 80s (hotter if the first round of storms don’t make it into our area or are very weak). Heat index values will range from the low to upper 90s.

Make sure to stay hydrated and take breaks from outside activities to beat the heat.
