Air quality ‘Moderate’ due to smoke from Canadian wildfire
MADISON (WKOW) — Hazy skies in the summer is usually due to summer humidity. That’s not the case today.
The haze you’re seeing is due to smoke from a wildfire in Manitoba. You might even be able to smell it.
The general public is usually not affected, but there may be a moderate health concern for a very small number of people who are unusually sensitive to air pollution. Air quality is expected to improve later this morning and into the afternoon.
Otherwise, you can expect a sunny and seasonable day thanks to high pressure – highs in the low 80s with comfortable humidity. If the smoke hangs around past dinnertime, it’ll set the stage for a pretty sunset.
Another dry day on Tuesday will be followed by a few showers and storms Tuesday night into Wednesday.
