Capital City Sunday: Juvenile Justice Reform & Gerrymandering

MADISON (WKOW) — Dane County has officially submitted their bid to construct a youth prison in Madison.

Counties are applying to open smaller-regional facilities closer to inmates homes after court monitor reports continue to reveal abuse and neglect at Lincoln Hills and Copper Lake youth prisons.

Two leaders leading the effort, John Bauman Dane County Juvenile Court Administrator and Ed Pearson Dane County Juvenile Detention Superintendent join us to talk details on how the facility would be constructed.

Plus, the push to end Gerrymandering in Wisconsin took a loss last week after a federal lawsuit challenging Republican-drawn legislative boundaries was officially dismissed after a key U.S. Supreme Court ruling.
