Capital City Sunday: UW Immigration Justice Clinic & Dept. Health Services Secretary

MADISON (WKOW) — Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agents are carrying out raids nationwide to arrest thousands of undocumented individuals with deportation orders. The UW-Madison Immigration Justice Clinic works with people seeking asylum and will be helping dozens of women and children in Texas next month.

Director of the program, Erin Barbato talks about the changing conditions on the border and explains why changing immigration policies are making it hard for asylum seekers and those trying to help them.

Now that Governor Evers signed the budget, the Department of Health Services is looking forward to their next plans for the state, long term care. Secretary-designee Andrea Palm discusses incitatives to help keep seniors in their homes and proposals to provide cheaper prescriptions for their drugs.
