Janesville man sentenced to 10 years for child pornography

JANESVILLE (WKOW) —  A Janesville man accused of sexually assaulting a child will spend 10 years in prison for possessing child pornography.

Michael M. Jackson, 43, was charged in Rock County Circuit Court with 1st Degree Sexual Assault of a Child and 40 counts of possession of child pornography. Wednesday, he pleaded guilty to 3 counts of having child porn. The other counts and the 1st Degree Sexual Assault of a Child charge were dismissed, but read into court as part of the plea agreement.

Jackson was given 10 years in prison and nine years of extended supervision for each guilty plea, but he will serve that sentence concurrently (at the same time). Jackson also has to register as a sex offender for life.

A criminal complaint states Jackson used a sex toy on the girl while recording the act with his cell phone. The victim told police the abuse happened repeatedly over the course of four months.
