Reedsburg man sentenced to 1 year in jail, 7 years probation for child sexual assault

BARABOO (WKOW) — A Reedsburg man charged in three separate child sexual assault cases has pleaded no contest to one count of 2nd degree sexual assault of a child.

According to court records, Riley Roth, 18, took a plea deal Wednesday in Sauk County Circuit Court. The other charges against him were dismissed, but read into the record. As part of the deal, the judge sentenced Roth to seven years of probation and one year in jail. He also has to register as a sex offender for life and is not allowed to have contact with any girls under the age of 18 or his victims.

Reedsburg Police arrested Roth in November after investigating reports he sexually assaulted an 8-year-old girl he was babysitting. The victim reported being tied up and gagged while the assaults take place. At the time, he was under investigation for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl and a 15-year old girl in separate incidents. He was eventually charged in those cases, as well as for the assault of the 8-year-old.
