UPDATE: Fatal crash on John Nolen Drive, rain impacts investigation

UPDATE (WKOW) — The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office says the motorcyclist who died in a crash on John Nolen Friday morning has been identified as 47-year-old Craig W. Schley of Brooklyn, Wisconsin.

Schley’s death was a result of injuries from the crash. Additional testing is underway, according to the medical examiner.


UPDATE (WKOW) — All lanes are back open after a deadly crash involving an SUV and motorcycle on John Nolen Drive, according to the Madison Police Department.

Officers said the weather was impacting their investigation.

No other information was released.


MADISON (WKOW) —  One person is confirmed dead after a two-vehicle crash in downtown Madison early Friday morning, according to the Madison Police Department.

The crash happened on John Nolen Drive at North Shore Drive at about 1:30 a.m. The northbound and southbound lanes of John Nolen Drive are blocked in both directions while authorities investigate.

An official told 27 News the weather is hindering the investigation.

No word on what caused the crash at this time.
