MADISON (WKOW) — The weather put a damper on the Dane County Fair as people had to run for cover while the storm rolled through Madison.
But organizers say that’s why they prepare in advance of the event.
Every building and all the vendors have storm readiness plans for days where weather becomes an issue.
But the most important part Saturday was getting everyone indoors.
“We can access a couple of main buildings,” said Karen Endres, spokesperson for the fair. “We have the Exposition Hall and then we also have the Coliseum which is a tornado storm shelter and those can be accessed very quickly and opened up to get everybody inside and protected from the weather.”
After the storms wrapped up, fair organizers said there wasn’t any damage or power problems.
