Much milder and drier stretch of weather ahead

MADISON (WKOW) – After multiple days of heat and storm chances, a sweeping cold front ushers in more pleasant weather ahead.

Isolated showers are still possible tonight closer to the Illinois border, but most stay dry and much more comfy with temps in the low to mid 60s.

With the heat wave over, Sunday will be seasonal with slowly decreasing cloud cover and temps only in the upper 70s and low 80s. A stray shower is still possible, but the majority of us stay dry.

High pressure fully takes control by Monday allowing lots of sunshine and comfy conditions with even cooler temps in the mid to upper 70s.

The outlook from the Climate Prediction Center this week (see article image) shows a high chance of overall below average temps.

Expect upper 70s to low 80s with lots of sunshine through Thursday. Winds shift out of the south Friday ushering in more warmth with highs rebounding to the mid 80s before summery storm chances increase next weekend.
