Highway 33 reopens after six-hour closure near Cambria

CAMBRIA (WKOW)– Both lanes of westbound Highway 33 at Highway 146 were closed today for just over six hours after a semi-truck and a pickup crashed today near Cambria, a notification from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation said.

The crash happened around 11 a.m., just after the Big Boy steam engine left nearby Friesland, and the highway reopened around 5 p.m. according to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.

No injuries were reported, Columbia County dispatchers said.

A column of smoke could be seen rising from the semi.

Cambria Fire, Pardeeville EMS, Wisconsin State Patrol and the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
