MADISON (WKOW) — One of Madison’s most iconic philanthropic organizations celebrated 130 years on Sunday.
Attic Angel was founded in 1889 and has helped the city ever since, starting the first children’s library, hospital, and more.
The organization celebrated and raised money for services on Sunday. The event’s theme was ‘Life is a Playground’, including a performance by members of the UW Band and an appearance from Bucky Badger.
“We wanted to take this and make it a community building activity, to bring everybody together, to learn that many hearts and many hands come together to make a real difference,” said Kelly Cheramy, outreach coordinator for Attic Angel.
Everyone who donated at the event was also entered for a chance to win ice cream for a year.
