DeForest man sentenced to six years in prison for his part in town of Dane homicide

MADISON (WKOW) — A DeForest man, one of the two men charged in the murder of a Dane man, was sentenced today in Dane County Circuit Court to six years in prison.

Drew Luber, of DeForest, earlier pleaded guilty to both disorderly conduct and felony murder. A judge also ordered four years of extended supervision.

Luber, along with Jacob Johnson, of Sun Prairie, pleaded guilty to murdering 24-year-old Dalton Ziegler.

Prosecutors allege Ziegler’s girlfriend, McKayla Tracy of Lodi, enlisted Johnson and Luber to confront Ziegler over alleged cheating.

Johnson was sentenced Aug. 6 to seven years in prison.

Tracy faces a charge of felony murder. A jury trial is scheduled for January 2020.
