Two injured Friday in crash at same intersection where two died a week earlier

WHITEWATER (WKOW) — Two people were injured Friday in a two-car crash in Whitewater.

Walworth County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of U.S. Highway 12 at Walworth Avenue in the city of Whitewater about 4:30 p.m. Aug. 9 for a two-vehicle injury crash.

Investigators say a white Kia Sorrento driven by Angela Sarazin, 39 of Gurnee, Illinois, was traveling west on Highway 12 and failed to yield the right-of-way and turned left in front of a blue Chevrolet Equinox driven by Robert Volk, 50 of Racine.

Sarazin was taken to a hospital by ambulance and Volk was transported from the scene by Flight for Life.

The intersection is the same location where two children were killed in a crash Aug. 1.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Whitewater Police Department, UW-Whitewater Police Department, Whitewater Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Janesville Fire Department, MD-1, and Flight for Life.
