MADISON (WKOW) — Drivers won’t be able to get around a few parts of Madison so easily on Saturday. The 11th annual Madison Mini Marathon will be happening and could cause a hiccup in some morning plans.
Runners will go from Memorial Union to the Capitol, near the Kohl Center, down and around the UW Arboretum, along Lake Wingra, around the zoo, near Camp Randall and up to Picnic Point before finishing up near Memorial Union.
Nearby roads will be impacted.
Drivers won’t be able to drive on the race route when runners are present.
Keep in mind, participants are expected to keep up a good pace in order to reach key locations throughout the race. This is to ensure the roads open back up in a timely fashion.
If all goes as planned, the roads will open by noon.
The race begins at 7 a.m.
