WAUNAKEE (WKOW) — People in Waunakee celebrated aviation on Sunday at the annual Pancakes and Planes breakfast.
The weather wasn’t very cooperative for the planes, but there were plenty of pancakes at the Waunakee airport.
The breakfast helps raise money to run the airport.
“We want to promote aviation here in Waunakee and also show our appreciation to the community of Waunakee for having our airport here,” said Jim Meier, Airport Manager
The airport has been in Waunakee since 1946.
There weren’t many plane rides at the event this year, because the planes couldn’t take off in the rainy weather.
