Police track down 60-year-old driver, cite her for hit-and-run

MADISON (WKOW) — A 60-year-old woman, who police say struck a bicyclist and took off, was later tracked down and issued a citation.
The woman was driving in the 700 block of S. Gammon Road about 6:30 p.m. Sunday when witnesses saw her car hit the 20-year-old bicyclist.

The Madison man, and his bike, were dragged a short distance and the driver took off, according to a Madison police incident report.

Concerned passersby, who came to the biker’s aid, were amazed the cyclist suffered only minor injuries, according to the report.

Officers located the driver on Apostle Island Road and issued her citations for hit-and-run, operating without insurance and operating with an expired driver’s license.
