BACK TO SCHOOL: Introduction to soccer

MADISON (WKOW) — A new program promises to introduce your kids to soccer this fall.

Jen Cairns is bringing Soccer Shots to Madison.  The program is said to provide a safe, healthy and fun learning environment for kids ages 2-8 to learn the game of soccer.

Cairns grew up playing soccer in Madison.  She said there was a need for a program like this, especially after the U.S. Women’s National Team win in the World Cup this year.

Wednesday on Wake Up Wisconsin, Cairns talks about all things soccer from avoiding injuries to potential benefits beyond exercise.

If you’d like to try Soccer Shots, there are two free opportunities to do so.  Free Fun Days will be held at the following dates and times:

  • Thursday, August 29 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. at McKee Farms Park
  • Saturday, September 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at Vilas Park
